Puppy’s First Year – The Four Seasons Package

September 21, 2022 by Tailwagger Dog Photographers

We have a new dog photography session option that we are so excited about – Puppy’s First Year or the Four Seasons package. It’s a 4 Signature Sessions for 1 dog, used during the course of (roughly) one calendar year. The 4 sessions can take place at any time during the year – they can correspond with the seasons – fall, winter, spring and summer. Or if the session is for a puppy and it’s more important to capture the pup’s growth, the sessions can take place at whatever stages you want to capture your puppy’s growth spurts and maturity.

We recently finished a Puppy’s First Year with a Dutch Shepherd and each session took place seasonally starting with summer and ending with spring.

A Dutch Shepherd puppy sits on top of a large boulder and looks off and to his right at Johnson Park in Walker, MI.
A male Dutch Shepherd puppy lies in the grass in the fall at Johnson Park in Walker, MI.
A male Durch Shepherd is caught mid-air chasing his orange toy in the snow at Hager Park in Jenison, MI.
A male Dutch Shepherd's headshot in front of tall green grass at Prairie Wolf park in Caledonia, MI.

We started this puppy package with a double merle Great Dane puppy, Joose, in September. Or as his Mom calls them, ‘Watch Me Grow’ sessions – these sessions are all about capturing Joose’s growth, so she can look back on the photos when he is older. His first session was at 13 weeks and his second session was at 6 months.

A male double merle puppy stands with the Blue Bridge of Grand Rapids, MI in the background.
A white Great Dane puppy sits in front of a colorful dog mural in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.

This new session option is not just for puppies – it’s a great way to capture your pup of any age romping in the fall leaves, playing in the snow, checking out the spring wild flowers or chilling on a summer evening in golden sunlight. It is all about capturing that special pup and remembering her forever.

Our Signature Session, as always, does not have a time limit and the pricing is based on how many pups will be photographed. The base session starts is $295 for 1 pup and each addition pup is $75, up to a max of 4 dogs. You decide what images you want – action, portraits, headshots, candid and/or group images (if more than one pup is involved in the session) – family portraits (humans and their pups) are included, but optional. The session location is mutually agreed upon and in and around the GR metro area (within 20 miles of our GR home base). More details on our Signature Session can be found on our pricing page.

The Fall Dog Portrait Mini Session is available mid-September through the beginning of November. This $99 session is for 1 pup – portraits or headshots only (no action or family portraits) – 20 minutes – all of these sessions will take place at Johnson Park (2600 Wilson Ave SW – about 10 minutes from downtown GR, right off 196).

Both sessions include 3 digital photos – each digital photo comes with one high resolution file for printing and one matching social media file.

Regardless of the session, you will receive an online gallery in which you choose the images you want. Additional digital photos may also be purchased.

We have online schedulers set up for both sessions on our Fall Sessions page on our website. You will also find FAQs and a bit more information about the two sessions there as well.

A word about our Signature Session Online Scheduler – it lists every time we are available to do a session during the season, to give as many options as possible. However, there is no way we could possible do all of those sessions and get edited galleries to clients in a timely manner. We can only do 3-4 Signature Sessions a week – once 3 or 4 sessions are booked for any given week, we will be clearing out the scheduler for that week. So, if you really need a particular session date – book early.

The Fall Dog Portrait Mini Sessions are offered throughout the season on varying weekday evenings each week at 4:30pm, 5:00pm and 5:30pm. We might be able to accommodate you on a weekend, if we can pair it up with a Signature Session (your mini session would take place before another client’s Signature Session) – contact us for availability.

Questions? You can fill out the contact form below and we will get back to you or email us at trish@tailwaggerphoto.com – text or call us at 517-990-5630.

Again to book one of these session, please see our Fall Session website page – both session online schedulers are listed on this page.

Paws With A Cause Headshot & Session Raffle Fundraiser

August 25, 2021 by Tailwagger Dog Photographers

We will be at Paws With A Cause’s Retriever Fever on September 11 (11 – 2pm at Grand Ravines Dog Park in Jenison) doing a $10 Headshot Fundraiser and raffling off a Tailwagger Pupper Session.

Composite of various headshots of dogs by Tailwagger Dog Photography, a Grand Rapids Pet and Dog Photographer.

Headshots are $10 and you will receive one high-resolution (for printing) and matching social media sized files of the best headshot (photographer’s choice) of your pup.

Your dog will remain on his leash for his headshot – we will remove the leash during the editing process, so it will look like your pup was never on a lead.

The session we will be raffling off is a Wee Tailwagger Pupper Session ($295 value) – good for one dog and the session includes a collection of digital photos. Raffle tickets are $5.

100% of everything we take in for both fundraisers goes to Paws With A Cause.

You don’t need to have a Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever to participate in our fundraisers – all breeds are welcome!

Come see us and support an incredibly worthy cause – September 11th, 11 – 2pm at Grand Ravines Dog Park in Jenison.

Wee Tailwagger Gift Cards

December 12, 2020 by Tailwagger Dog Photographers

Holiday news! This holiday season we are offering our Wee Tailwagger Dog Photography Session as a gift card, to be used at any point in time during the course of the year. We’ve traditionally offered our Wee Session only during the fall season, as a way of capturing the beautiful Michigan fall colors without the investment of our Signature Tailwagger Session. But this fall season was a bit different, in that we also had several requests for Wee gift cards from people who were more interested in snow photographs or spring/summer photographs. So, we decided to offer our Wee Tailwagger on a trial basis as a gift card this holiday season.

Details – what’s included?

Our Wee session is an all-inclusive session, in that a collection of high-resolution files (and matching social media files) is included in the session fee. The session is good for up to 2 dogs and is a 30-45 minute session. Images are viewed through a private online gallery – you choose your collection from 10-15 carefully selected and beautifully edited images that showcase your pup’s unique and unforgettable personality. A custom smart phone app of the photographer’s favorite session images is also included in the session.

The Wee Tailwagger Session is fully customizable – choose from portrait, action, headshot and ‘me and my pup’ images – just let us know what your vision is of the session and we can accommodate. ‘Me and my pup’ images make wonderful memory keepers and we absolutely love capturing images of the bond you have with your pup. If you don’t have an image preference for your Wee session, we aim for a nice variety of portrait, action and headshot photographs.

There isn’t an expiration date for any of our gift cards and like previously mentioned, the Wee Tailwagger gift card can be used at any point throughout the year and may even be transferred to another party. For more information about the Wee Tailwagger session, click here. If you want to purchase a Wee Tailwagger gift card, click here, and choose Wee Tailwagger Session as the option under the ‘Gift Cards’ category.

Have a questions? Please message us, send an email to trish@tailwaggerphoto.com or call us at 517-990-5630.

We wish everyone and their tailwaggers a peaceful and relaxing Holiday Season!
