We had an offer on our doghouse shortly after it went on the market the second week of May. We have passed inspections and now have a closing date of June 22nd. So, Tailwagger Dog Photography is moving to the Grand Rapids area sometime early summer. Tailwagger Dog Photography is getting ready to move our doghouse! Unlike our original plans, we are now staying in-state! We are moving to West Michigan – more specifically the Grand Rapids area. Our doghouse goes on the market in the next week or so and we hope to move by late spring or early summer at the latest.

We no longer have our own studio and typically just do outdoor sessions, but because of the generous offer of a friend and local business owner we do have a space to do some studio sessions, if you are interested.

We started TDP in Jackson a year and a half ago with the spirit of learning as much as we could about photographing dogs, as well as the business side of starting a niche photography business. It has been an exciting and interesting time, as well as a period of learning. We have been on a steep learning curve regarding the business end of TDP, as well as all of the fun stuff from how to handle run-away 13-week-old Labrador puppies to tackling deaf, blind or shy dogs. It has been an amazingly enlightening journey!
After careful consideration, TDP has decided it is time to close this chapter and open the next. We are at the end of the process of getting our home ready to put on the market and move out of state. We are incredibly grateful to our clients, friends and family who have supported and encouraged us throughout our start-up! Thanks so much, Jackson, for a wonderful start!

Tailwagger Dog Photography received some awesome news a few weeks ago. We are going to Ontario, Canada in August to visit none other than Illona Haus, the Head scruffy, of scruffy dog photography! Illona is an award winning, internationally acclaimed and recognized, pet-exclusive photographer who is known for her photographs of dogs in their natural outdoor environment just being…well…dogs. Illona is all about capturing a dog’s essence – its spirit and character – “Dog being Dog”.
Illona is celebrating her 10th anniversary as a full-time pet photographer and her 5th year mentoring photographers from all over the world. To celebrate Illona is giving back to the pet photography industry by offering a free mentoring session to a professional pet photographer. We are absolutely ecstatic to have been chosen to receive this mentoring session! This is huge for us and we are just absolutely thrilled to be able to learn from such a seasoned and successful dog photographer as Illona and we are so looking forward to a fun, but intense weekend of working on our shooting, editing and all things dog in scruffy land!
